About

​Thiptara, which means ‘Magic at the Water’, specialises in Royal Thai cuisine with a special emphasis on Bangkok-style seafood. Surrounded by Burj Lake, the spectacular views of The Dubai Fountain at night transform this contemporary al fresco waterfront restaurant into a truly magical setting.

Review

​I, along with approximately 40 Zomans were invited for a massive & magical Zomato Meetup to Thiptara on Friday, 25th March 2016. It was to showcase their newly launched Brunch offering cleverly titled: "The HypnoThai", making it the latest addition to Dubai's Brunch Bandwagon. By the end of it I couldn't walk much what with the wide variety of authentic Thai menu filling us all up to the brim.
​​Some of the items I tried are included but not limited to:

Mocktails:
Cucumber Soda, Mandarin soda, Ginger tea. Extremely unique flavors and options, tried just a sip as I am more of a cocktail person than a mocktail guy but I did see a lot of non-alcoholics enjoy and rave about these.
Drinks &Cocktails:
Singha Beers, Apple Cider, Elderflower Apple Cider, White Wine Sangria, Red Wine Sangrias were the otpions we had for alcoholic beverages. Went perfectly well with the time of the day and the weather. Loved the Super Smooth Red Wine Sangria. Even made sure our glasses were refilled promptly as the food still had some time to come in.
Som Tum Thai Salad:
Spicy green papaya salad with long bean & tomatoes in Thai lime & chili dressing. The Thai lime & chilli dressing was hot, tangy and interesting.

Tom Kha Gai Soup:
Traditional chicken coconut milk soup flavored with Thai herbs & mushrooms. I have never been big on soups, probably when I am sick but that't about it. Thiptara made me fall in love with soups. This is a must must try.
​Starters:
Steamed Vegetable Wontons, Vegetable Spring Rolls. Decent and easy to eat munchies to pass the time.
​Mains: 
Thai green curry with eggplants & sweet basil leaves, pad Thai, Tofu & Corn Fritters. While the starters were good, the mains just lifted our mood with the aromatic flavours and deliciously tasting food. Thai Green Curry was rightfully the highlight of the day. The main courses were devoured in just a few minutes.
Desserts:
Tab Tim Krob comprising of water chestnuts, jackfruit, palm seed and pandan syrup. Gluey Thod I-Tim which is a deep fried banana with Thai ice cream & coconut sauce. Saku Nam Kra Tie consisting of sago ball, jack fruit & sweet coconut cream. Khao Neaw Mamueng having Ripe Thai yellow mangoes, sweet sticky rice ladeled with coconut cream. I-Tum Kub Phon La Mai Ruam - Asian fruity sorbet, exotic fruit selection on crushed ice. Wan Gati Thai coconut jelly. Khanom Mow Keang Taro cake, soft banana cakes, Piñata colada veritas, chocolate brownies, Tarts and cheesecakes. To put things in summary, All desserts were heavenly. The desserts were so good we actually wished we hadn't already eaten so much.

Verdict

​Personally, I think AED390/- for a brunch this varied is totally worth it & wish the team of Thiptara all the very best. I was HypnoThaized for sure.
