Launched exactly a year back on 3rd July 2015, this colorful shack has come a long way since. Head over to Mr. Crab to try their appetizing seafood dishes and their very own take of seafood paella.

Review

I was honestly a bit hesitant to try out this place because I've never shelled and eaten a crab before, (have tried couple of bites from a friend's plate in Boracay, Philippines but that story is for another time) and also because my wife is allergic to shellfish! But the invitation was so welcoming, we thought we ought to give it a try! And we are so glad we did, because Mr. Crab had a lot more to offer than just crabs! 

The Ambiance

The ambiance was so appealing because it almost tried to re-create the "shacks" one would find at typical places like Thailand or Goa and won at it! They kept it simple and bright and made sure it was comfortable! The serving platters were in the form of buckets which were an instant eye catcher! 

The Food

The food is definitely the high point here. We realised this as we dug into our orders and were sincerely amazed! First up was

Fried Shrimps:
This came with a variety of sauces on the side ranging from garlic butter to buffalo. The shrips were fried to crisp perfection and complimented well with the sauces! The arrived in a cute bucket style vessel that made the presentation so very "non-boring" !
Chicken Wings:
Served in a tub, these chicken wings could give a specialist F&B outlet a run for their money! Non-oily and full of flavour these were so hard to put down, we kept eating them till we reached the bottom of the pile! Simply amazing..
Corn On The Cob (Sides):
Okay I know, its corn on the cob but guys really, they have some magical in-house seasoning that made this SO yum! I usually don't invest stomach space on sides but this one is unmissable! 
Grilled Chicken:
I wasn't expecting much out of this one, but it took me by surprise how their seasoning can make this otherwise boring dish so delicious! My wife loves her grilled chicken so we called for this and then she kept nudging me try it, and I realised what she meant. We even asked the Co-Owner of the place who is a college student BTW, whats the secret.. And all she disclosed was  that its the Chefs special seasoning! 
Chicken Katsu:
Who doesn't like them a good Katsu? This one was a bit different because they didn't have a "katsu sauce" to go with it! So we tried it with a bunch of sauces they had and the winner ultimately was the curry sauce! They even gave us some chilli seasoning to amp up the spice level! Big enough potion and cooked to perfection! This was good main course!

The Desserts

Gimme S'mores:
The co-owner insisted that we try this dessert and we know why! S'mores are basically toasted marshmallows and they were placed on top of some melted chocolate and surrounded by graham crackers! The only way to enjoy this dessert is by having mouthfuls of every element together.. for real! The combination is to die for and you will not regret these calories..

Verdict

Yes, even though we didn't eat what Mr. Crab is famous for, we would still recommend this place for the rest of the food! We cant even imagine how good the crabs must be tasting if their non seafood food is so great! Try this place if you are in Barsha and you won't be disappointed.
