Meat Me, Level Seven, W Hotel

Meat Me Night: Every Sunday 7:00pm - 10:00pm


Experience the legendary, rustic markets of the Mediterranean - Spain, Italy and Greece – in this bustling social hotspot, gorgeously adorned with wood, steel and vintage art amid earthy tones that invites to share stories and an abundance of tasteful tapas presentations, freshly prepared servings from the crudo bar, rice and grain dishes, and meat bites from the rotisserie.

​The Meat Me night is a carnivore’s paradise. From tender lamb to juicy steaks, you can indulge in all your favourite cuts from the wide selection of meats on offer. Just AED 250 per person with a special priced grape menu, this is a meat feast fit for a king. Vegetarians need not bother applying.


It was so exciting to be invited to an all you can eat "night brunch" at Level Seven, the restaurant, in the newly opened W Hotel, in Al Habtoor City. The thing is it was not only a all-you-can-eat-buffet, but a buffet catered to meat-lovers or carnivores basically! How exciting does that sound? It was an unmissable event so we cleared up our schedules and built some appetite and strutted towards the very stylish W hotel! 


W Hotel, is quite funky generally all over the world and we felt this difference so prominently the second we entered the Dubai version because it is such a contrast from the usual brightly lit with giant chandeliers and drapes that literally all the other hotels display. This one was dim with blue LED lights fired in a random order. The staff looked as though casually dressed, although that might just be their uniform. 

Through the lift we made our way to Level Seven, where were greeted by a life size cow stature. Hilarious. And just behind it was our sweet manager lady who sat us on a table of our choice, overlooking the open kitchen. The thing about open kitchens is that, the restaurant needs to be extremely confident with their chefs because there is no way to hide. Moving on to the restaurant in general, of course it wasn't the usual, but decorated with shiny metal utensils and funky looking jars as lamps as opposed to opulent chandeliers. There was a designated place close to the outside-of-kitchen refrigerator specifically for the cold cuts, as was one called a carving station! 


Salad Station:
We started of the amazing salad station to open up our appetites, and gorged on the yum stir fried mushrooms, parmesan shavings, the chicken and pineapple salad amongst many others. I was actually ready for a second helping when i realised we have 5 more stations to cover. 
While crunching, our drinks arrived and while we are not very sure about the names, mine was a gin and fruit based extremely potent cocktail, while my wife had a vodka based, mixed with egg white and limoncello cocktail, which she seemed to really like! 
Cold Cuts Station:
On to the next, it was the cold cuts section there was a huge variety of chicken, beef and lamb mortadella's. But not only that, to satisfy the sea-foodies they also had some oysters at the back! Amazing and impressive stuff. 
Hot Stuff Station: 
This was obviously my favourite station because it included bite size portioned hot food, being prepared right in front of our eyes. There were tons of varieties which included a lamb tajine, a spinach and cheese ravioli, a mushroom and duck risotto which was outstanding, a seafood paella which was worth the rave, a classic lasagne, ad a vegetarian cannelloni. We literally took a break after this so as to accommodate more food.  
Carving station:
Pretty cool, they had an out of this world beef wellington! The pastry layer was so crisp and the beef was medium well-which is exactly how we like it. There was a giant salmon fillet crusted with herbs just up for grabs. There was a whole chicken, agin herbed and crusted, and all these came with accompaniments which included mashed potato, cheesy cauliflower, mushroom sauce and a bunch of other things that would complete a rotisserie meal.
The Man Food Station: 
This one had pieces of meat just laid out for display, for us to select and them to grill it to perfection and serve. I had the chicken breast fillet grilled and , while it was a bit on the chewy side, my lamb steak was perfection. They also had beef sliders and pizza!! We also found Arancini balls lined up that side and obviously grabbed them too. 
Sweet Station:
We were probably a bit late to this party, because by the time we made it here, most of the desserts were over and the chef's seemed to be packing up already. They did not seemed to please to serve us the desserts that were still available but then they did regardless. Out of which the berry panna cotta and the chocolate mousse were amazing. The rest had been laid out for far too long to maintain their integrity! Alas..

MEAT ME @ W Hotel is definitely an experience not only for meat lovers surprisingly but also for people who prefer sea-food or even vegetarians! The place itself is a treat to the eyes and the cocktails are pretty amazing! It is one of the best night-time buffets we have been to in a long time and would definitely recommend it to all our friends.
