​Opened in 2006 and what started as a 16 seater restaurant, Eric's Restaurant has grown over the years and is known for its unique home-cooked Goan dishes along with Chinese and Thai cuisines.

The owner, Eric Lewis, a pioneer in the hotel industry for over 20 years, aimed at bringing people from all over Dubai together with one common love - authentic Goan food.

The ambiance of the restaurant reflects the type one would see in any cosy home, with a hospitable team of waiters and cooks, who make every dining experience, a memorable one. Be it a small family gathering, a business meeting, or even a reunion with long lost friends, Eric's Restaurant promises to leave your stomach desiring for more.

In the words of Eric, "Thank you, and come back home to Eric's!"


​Eric's for us was completely unheard of, since the beginning of time so we were so surprised when our bur Dubai friends mentioned they frequent there all the time. When asked about the cuisine, they said its primarily Goan, but you get all kinds of fusion things available! My wife was a bit irked because she is not a bi fan of coconut based dished and she is allergic to seafood, so she had it in her head that it was her day to starve for dinner. Quietly we made our way there, and just in time because they only had one table available and the crowds were pouring in by the second! 


We ordered a mix of juices, aertaed drinks and the unique Goan specialty Cocum which were all super refreshing.


​The menu was vast and yes it was so typically Goan, but the good thing was that there were plenty chicken dishes as well and there was PAD THAI! Like, you are not allowed to complain when there is pad Thai involved. Our group is such a seafood lover, so we ended up ordering majority of the starters as seafood, and maybe one chicken starter and one chicken main dish! 
The black pepper chicken was out of this world, despite being a tad bit spicy. It was basically shredded chicken stir fried in black pepper sauce! The quantity was shareable amongst 4 people at least. 
For the seafood starters we had a bunch of dishes that were pre-ordered so really cannot recollect the names, but it was some Chinese style prawns that were amazing, and some fish stir fry as well. The best thing is the portions are so huge, that we do not need to order more. 
For the mains there was a mango and coconut shrimp curry, which was unheard of in my world but I am so glad I was initiated to it, because it was something so spectacular. It almost felt like a savoury version of the mango and rice dessert! One of my top favourites for that night. Can go back just for this!
The butter chicken was subtle and boring, and chicken was over done sadly. We have definitely had better ones elsewhere. The appams went well with the gravy though.
Then came the big winner: The chicken pad Thai! The gluttonous noodles were cooked perfectly and tossed aromatically in garlic and sauces with some chicken shreds! It was simple yet non fuss and tasty!

The seafood at Eric's is exceptional, but the chicken is not! They are true to their cuisine which is all about seafood and coconutty mixtures! It seemed like a humble joint that is there to impress people with it's food and not some fancy setting and we thought it did that. Head over there to enjoy some kickass seafood!
